My Story
Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol… Black and white keys of my piano make me fly far away but I have an uncomfortable feeling of being not at my place. I do feel that it’s not my direction, it’s not my train!
Going to school… doing my homework… being lost in my thoughts and… again and again. I fill in my school sheets with my drawings and again and again I have to rewrite my homework.
Going to my music school… After the first four years of my music school this black-and-white ritual had a sugary aftertaste for me. One more year and one more… And I understand that I am the projection of
my mother’s unfulfilled dreams – music, music career… I pulled that locomotive all the way to the end of the music school. And I had even sung in a music group (successfully). But it was her train! Not mine!
Studies, family, children, a new country, work… And my train waited patiently for me, on the siding rails of my life.
Coincidence… (No! There are no coincidences!) I’m sitting in a hallway with unpleasantly flashing light and waiting my turn of the queue for the appointment taken with my social worker and, as usual I was waiting and drawing bent over a sheet of paper. The social worker approaches me and says to me, “You always draw, but why only with a black pencil?” – Then she gives me a pack of acrylic paints and says: “Put some colour into your life!” It was Karin. She has opened the way for me to my path, to my train!
50-100-200 km per hour. I’m on my way! My train is gaining the speed and is filled with bright colours,
feelings, emotions, experiences. . . And this is MY TRAIN!!!
An unpleasant black and white aftertaste is far behind. Now I paint the world on the canvas of life using a brush making words and colours of emotions.
